365 Cards Day 227 ~ ATC (clever owl)

Today's challenge is create an ATC - Artist Trading Card, which is 2.5x3.5 inches in size.  But not just any ATC - it needs to have a school-related theme.

Owls are supposed to be clever
and this owl is jumping for joy because it knows its ABCs.

CAS Happy Birthday Card

What's up with Washi tape?
It seems to be the current rage like the Korean Psy's Oppa Gungnam Style.
Here are two challenges to use washi tapes.
Friday Mashup FM80 Mash It Up (Sketch and Faux Washi Tape)
Use some sort of tape - Duct, Washi, plain old scotch tape - on your card.

I don't have the actual washi tape.
What I have are printed tapes (faux washi tape) which can take the place of real washi tape.
So it is ideal for the mashup.
As you all well know, I like CAS cards
so this taped card is really simple.
Two different tapes, two strips each,
and a lovely Mrs Grossman's sentiment sticker.
It's a CAS Happy Birthday card
which radiates love and light.

Freshly Made, Double the Fun

This card is made with Freshly Made Sketches FMS56

Today's challenge is called "Double the Fun", and it requires you to double up on at least 3 different items on your card (e.g., rhinestones, buttons, stickers, ribbons).

I love the sketch so much that I had to make another card with it.
So double the fun fits the bill.
Two puppies from Disney's 101 Dalmations.
Two Spellbinders Labels Eleven in two colours.
Two panels to hold the ribbon tied into a bow.
Two buttons in the top right corner.
Two jewels on the collars, one pink and one blue.
Patterned paper is from Echo Park Everyday Eclectic.
Ain't this such a Happy Happy card?

Butterfly Away Any Occasion Card

Two very lovely challenges ~ simple sketch and silver.
365 Cards Day 221 - Super Sunday Sketch

Less is More Week 88 Colour ~ Silver

Polka dots, scalloped circles, glittery flower and butterfly with pearls.
Simple elegance.
This CAS card is very versatile and can be used for any occasion,
which is why I left it sentiment free.
My motto ~ Keep it plain and simple.

365 Cards Day 220 - Missed Opportunity

I chose Day 328 ~ Super Sketchy Sunday on January 22
and Day 343 ~ Mismatched on February 6.
You need to use two different patterned papers that you would not normally use together.

I only started making cards back in February some time,
and set out to make 365 cards commencing March 1 with 365 Cards.
My skills have improved since, especially
after the Cuttlebug and Spellbinders came into my life.
I started with using wrapping paper and cards less than 200g.
Now I use mainly plain cards in various colors with the help of embossing folders,
die cuts, ribbons and twine, stamps (mainly Hero Arts Stamps).
I may not have as many dies, stamps or ribbons as I would love to have,
but I make do with the little I have.

For this card, I combined 2 challenges into one with the 2 different patterned papers
that do not seem to match, yet when the card is done, they come together quite well.
The sentiment is from Love Vellum Quotes by Colorbok.
Like 2 different people falling in LOVE.
They say opposites attract.
Playful meets tweed, fun meets serious,
exciting meets calm.
That's what LOVE is about.

Unscripted Sketch #179 with 365-219 Colors

A wonderful pairing of challenges for this card

It is always delightful to match challenges, especially that of a sketch and a color palette.
When the match is right, the card just turns out well.
The patterned paper is origami paper from Tokutokuya 100 Yen Store.
The green paper is from DCWV.
Embossed the green panel with Sizzix Polka Dot
in an angle so that the dots came out aligned vertically.
The scalloped circles are Spellbinders.
The orange flower is cut using Cuttlebug's Garden Creatures.
This is a card that can be used for any occasion.

MOJO261 with Color Throwdown CTD212

Yet another wonderful sketch from Mojo Monday MOJO261,
played along with Color Throwdown CTD212 on my first attempt with 5 colors.

Made this card with a slight twist.  Embossed Swiss Dots on white card.
Die cut the red card with ...
For the want of Spellbinders Classic Circles, I made do with Scalloped Circles instead.
Cut a banner using patterned paper from Echo Park Everyday Eclectic.
Tied the ribbon into a bow.
Placed the grey scalloped circle and mounted the butterfly.
Embellished with pearls.
Sentiment is from Mrs Grossman's.
Have a Blessed and Happy Birthday!

Classic Chanel Inspired Card

After a few non-productive days of card making, I managed to get this one out on a late Friday evening but missed Dynamic Duos' closing (argh!!!).  I wrote a plea to the DTs for a chance to submit and hope they will consider it.
I used the colors for 365 Cards Day 214 Sketch.

As usual, I kept the card very simple and classic, like Audrey Hepburn in her Chanel dress.

This card is also suitable for CAS-ual Fridays CFC73 ~ For The Girls.

365 Cards Day 213 ~ Thinking In Fourths

I'm late, I'm late and I missed the deadlline to be Weekly All Stars
because this week, 365 Cards DTs decided to post winners today!
We just do not know when such announcements are made anymore.

Anyway, made this CAS card for the challenge.
Maya Road Twine tied around the white card,
with a button in the centre.
Two scalloped circles and pearls.
One in four, you're the best.

1 Stamped image (digi or rubber)

This recipe card needed a lot of thought with the various elements (ingredients).
And I came up with this card.
Just because...
flowers and butterflies go together.

Raining Purple Hearts

This CAS card is made for these challenges

I used a purple polka dotted vellum paper from Daiso,
tied a violet grosgrain ribbon bow,
and die cut the hearts using Spellbinders Nestabilities Classic Hearts.
It's raining purple hearts.
Here is to all the brave ones.

365 Cards Day 208 ~ Imagine This: Falling Snow

It has been a busy week for me and very little time for making cards, and the challenges I would like to do are piling up.  So for this 365 Cards challenge, I did the practical thing because one cannot simply have all the right stuff to make a card.

I found this patterned paper of falling snow and snow laden Christmas trees from my stash of scrapbook material.  Cut them to size and shape and mounted them on a navy card, leaving a panel for me to stamp falling snow-like cherry blossoms.  Completed the card with a navy blue ribbon and bow tied 3 times over.

365 Cards Day 207 ~ Super Sunday Sketch

I see picket fences and a cloud.  Then I looked at all the DT cards and saw that one can be very versatile with the sketch.  I toyed with the idea this way and that and finally came up with this one.

As I keep saying, I just love Spellbinders Dies and can hardly wait to add more to my collection.
This bird die has been used so often in my cards, I wonder if people get tired of it.
Five birdies in a row (on a line or cable, in this case, rigrag).
Branch and leave stamps from Micia Crafts.
Sentiment is from Hero Arts Everyday Messages.

This card is also for Less is More Week 86 ~ Recipe (take 3 challenges)
which are
Week 41 ~ Leaves or Week 84 ~ Foliage
Week 50 ~ Birds
Week 67 ~ Use Three Stamps (branch, leaves, sentiment)

365 Cards Day 204 ~ Challenge Combo

And the challenge for today is called "Twisted" because we're ooking for a braided or twisted material, such as floss, ribbon, twine or something similar.

A card to Mother Nature,
a card for Earth Day.

Have a Woof-woof Wonderful Day

This card is made for Freshly Made Sketches FMS53
using colors from Friday Mashup FM77
which fits into CASual Fridays CFC71 Fall Fun theme
(or so I think).

Positioned the hand cut banners in Cajun Craze, More Mustard, Lucky Limeade.
Ran the card through the Cuttlebug using Swiss Dots to give it a dotted treatment.
Mounted the two scalloped circles and stamped the Inkadinkado Terrier.
Have a woof-woof wonderful day!!

365 Cards Day 203 ~ It's What on the Inside

This was an interesting card to make.  I kind of struggled with it initially, made some mistakes and was forced to abandon the first effort.  I had wanted to make a black and white card (black on the outside, with a circle cut out, white on the inside, with scalloped circle to form a flower) but it did not turn out as what I had planned (mistake in stamping a wreath in white on black background which was ruined).

The mistake turned out to be a blessing in disguise
when I made the necessary changes to my initial idea.
I used Spellbinders Scalloped Circle to make a window in the red card.
The patterned paper is Echo Park Everyday Eclectic, cut out twice,
the inner inside the card, the outer ring outside the card.
Likewise, the inside of the card is the opposite of the outside.
The patterned papers had to be carefully cut and positioned in the exact same order.
It is a bright red CAS birthday card for a lucky one.

365 Cards Day 202 ~ White Space

It's a White Space challenge on 365 Cards Day 202, and you know what that means...
Use this sketch as your guide
And keep all decorations limited to the blacked out areas on your card.

My first take on this challenge was not too good as I followed too closely to the sketch.
So I left it at that last night and woke up this morning knowing what I have to do.
Used the largest die from Spellbinders Labels Eleven on brown card,
cut into half, mounted the 2 halves diagonally (not Diagon Alley) on a white card,
placed the smaller labels in the centre,
stamped in "Hello" using Hero Arts' Everyday Messages in Momento's Rich Cocoa,
positioned some pearls, and completed the card with two butterflies,
again using Spellbinders on the Cuttlebug.  Oh, I so love Spellbinders!!

The two butterflies are saying "Hello"...
