Raining Purple Hearts

This CAS card is made for these challenges

I used a purple polka dotted vellum paper from Daiso,
tied a violet grosgrain ribbon bow,
and die cut the hearts using Spellbinders Nestabilities Classic Hearts.
It's raining purple hearts.
Here is to all the brave ones.

365 Cards Day 208 ~ Imagine This: Falling Snow

It has been a busy week for me and very little time for making cards, and the challenges I would like to do are piling up.  So for this 365 Cards challenge, I did the practical thing because one cannot simply have all the right stuff to make a card.

I found this patterned paper of falling snow and snow laden Christmas trees from my stash of scrapbook material.  Cut them to size and shape and mounted them on a navy card, leaving a panel for me to stamp falling snow-like cherry blossoms.  Completed the card with a navy blue ribbon and bow tied 3 times over.

365 Cards Day 207 ~ Super Sunday Sketch

I see picket fences and a cloud.  Then I looked at all the DT cards and saw that one can be very versatile with the sketch.  I toyed with the idea this way and that and finally came up with this one.

As I keep saying, I just love Spellbinders Dies and can hardly wait to add more to my collection.
This bird die has been used so often in my cards, I wonder if people get tired of it.
Five birdies in a row (on a line or cable, in this case, rigrag).
Branch and leave stamps from Micia Crafts.
Sentiment is from Hero Arts Everyday Messages.

This card is also for Less is More Week 86 ~ Recipe (take 3 challenges)
which are
Week 41 ~ Leaves or Week 84 ~ Foliage
Week 50 ~ Birds
Week 67 ~ Use Three Stamps (branch, leaves, sentiment)

365 Cards Day 204 ~ Challenge Combo

And the challenge for today is called "Twisted" because we're ooking for a braided or twisted material, such as floss, ribbon, twine or something similar.

A card to Mother Nature,
a card for Earth Day.

Congratulations ~ MOJO259 with 365-205 Colors

I almost missed this week's Mojo Monday Challenge MOJO259
because I did not see the blog posting on Tuesday.
Fortunately I realised it this afternoon and quickly looked it up.
I used 365 Cards Day 205 Color Scheme on this parchment card.

When I saw the sketch, I immediately thought of a rainbow.
So I turned the sketch to landscape with the arch on top like a bridge.
The dark grey, green and camel cream papers are from DCWV Cardstock stack.
The light grey "mound" is cut from a Maya Road half circle chipboard.
The Spellbinders Butterfly is cut off from a shoe box I recycled a while back.
Positioned pearls (2 sizes) over the arch and on the butterfly.
The sentiment "Congratulations" is from Hero Arts Everyday Messages.
Left the rest of the card clean and clear.

earlier card
Not feeling too happy about the card which does not stand out on parchment paper,
I decided to tweak the card to make the contents stand out better.
Layered a white parchment paper on grey DCWV cardstock.
The white card is embossed with Sizzix Polka Dot embossing folder
while the green labels are the reverse of Cuttlebug's Swiss Dots.

Positioned the hand cut banners in Cajun Craze, More Mustard, Lucky Limeade.
Ran the card through the Cuttlebug using Swiss Dots to give it a dotted treatment.
Mounted the two scalloped circles and stamped the Inkadinkado Terrier.

365 Cards Day 203 ~ It's What on the Inside

This was an interesting card to make.  I kind of struggled with it initially, made some mistakes and was forced to abandon the first effort.  I had wanted to make a black and white card (black on the outside, with a circle cut out, white on the inside, with scalloped circle to form a flower) but it did not turn out as what I had planned (mistake in stamping a wreath in white on black background which was ruined).

The mistake turned out to be a blessing in disguise
when I made the necessary changes to my initial idea.
I used Spellbinders Scalloped Circle to make a window in the red card.
The patterned paper is Echo Park Everyday Eclectic, cut out twice,
the inner inside the card, the outer ring outside the card.
Likewise, the inside of the card is the opposite of the outside.
The patterned papers had to be carefully cut and positioned in the exact same order.
It is a bright red CAS birthday card for a lucky one.

365 Cards Day 202 ~ White Space

It's a White Space challenge on 365 Cards Day 202, and you know what that means...
Use this sketch as your guide
And keep all decorations limited to the blacked out areas on your card.

My first take on this challenge was not too good as I followed too closely to the sketch.
So I left it at that last night and woke up this morning knowing what I have to do.
Used the largest die from Spellbinders Labels Eleven on brown card,
cut into half, mounted the 2 halves diagonally (not Diagon Alley) on a white card,
placed the smaller labels in the centre,
stamped in "Hello" using Hero Arts' Everyday Messages in Momento's Rich Cocoa,
positioned some pearls, and completed the card with two butterflies,
again using Spellbinders on the Cuttlebug.  Oh, I so love Spellbinders!!

The two butterflies are saying "Hello"...

Radiating Love

White is pure, white is bright.
White for baptism and confirmation.
White for weddings.
White for radiating love...

The card is a white on white with a tinge of red to spice it up a wee bit.
I used Cuttlebug's Swiss Dots and Spellbinders Nestabilities Classic Hearts
for this CAS card.  No sentiment needed.  The heart speaks all.

Sending You a String of Hearts

This card is made for

Both challenges asked for flags/pennants/banners
but I don't have any and I was too lazy to hand cut any.
So I decided to make a flag of hearts
in support of the US Elections coming up.
I used my newly received Spellbinders Nestabilities Classic Hearts in red,
mounted them on a piece of twine,
and held them in place with the blue buttons.
Sentiments from Hero Arts Clear Stamps Everyday Messages
in Momento Dew Drops Danube Blue and Lady Bug.

Certainly a red-white-blue card.
I'm rooting for the Democrats and Obama.
Sending you hugs and kisses with a string of hearts.

Spotlighted on 365 Cards Day 194

365 Cards Day 194 ~ Ad Inspired was a Monday card I made using MOJO258 sketch on a Friday and I named the post Monday Monday pa-pa, pa-pa...  Thank you 365 Cards for the spotlight and thank you Mojo Monday for the sketch.

Black and White and ... Card ~ BOO!

and this card is made with CAS-ual Fridays CFC70 and Dynamic Duos DD#20 in mind.

The last few cards have been a tough call as here in Malaysia, it is always summer,
and it is either very sunny and hot or it rains dogs and cats.
There is no fall (autumn), Halloween and Thanksgiving are not celebrated here.
So once again, I had to make do with what I have and be creative.
And of course, I mashed up three (3) challenges in one.
So it is Peeka-Boo I see you time with black, white and green.
The black panel on the side is embossed with Cuttlebug's Swiss Dots.
Green ribbon is tied to an X with a bow.
Used Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels Eleven.  It looks like an explosion of sorts.
Peeka-boo is Doodlebug Designs simply sweet in limeade.
Added the googly eyes just for fun!

365 Cards Day 199 ~ Five for Fall

I know I am late.  I have not been able to make any cards the last few days, so it is catch up time again.  What more, internet is slow now that we have used up all 6GB of quota in just 15 days and it is throttled to a very s  l  o  w  speed.  Time to upgrade to another service provider.
Hope I make it for 365 Cards Weekly All Stars.

Anyway, back to the challenge.
Since I have no Halloween or Fall stuff for card making,
I improvised and used the colours of fall (five of them),
embossed the rays in polka dot,
tied a bow with a ribbon,
die cut 2 scalloped circles
and used 1 owl stamp in light brown
to make this card using the sketch from Friday Mashup FM76.

The thrill in making this card is using the Spellbinders Nestabilities Scalloped Circles for the first time today which I just received from my brother in West Virginia.  (The stash which my brother sent included Spellbinders Nestabilities Classic Hearts and  Labels Eleven, 2 Cuttlebug Embossing Folders, 2 sets of Hero Arts Clear Stamps, a set of Inkadinkado clear stamps and Momento Dew Drops set of 12 colors.)

A CAS Birthday Card for a Friend

This card is made for Less is More Week 85 Theme ~ Oval
and sketch from Sketch Saturday #225

On a white card, I placed the green patterned paper from Cosmo Cricket.
The oval slider from EK Success is banded around the card with a camel colored ribbon.
Stamped a dotted swirl and a sprig of ivy with Bamboo Leaves ink to compliment the green paper.
Happy Birthday sentiment is Mrs Grossman's sticker.

365 Cards Day 197 ~ Sponge Grunge

I am not much of a technique driven person for cards.  So this took a while to figure out.
First I tested out the sponge, some ink and paper.  Turned out OK.
Got a piece of dark brown card and sponged it with white pigment ink,
embossed it with polka dots and then sponged it again, double sponging.
Looked up Freshly Made Sketches for their 1st anniversary challenge and chose FMS24.

The colours I used follows Stencil Words EAD Designs September Colour Challenge 28

And the card came out like this.
Thank you 365 Cards and Freshly Made Sketches for being my friends.

365 Cards Day 196 ~ Keep It Simple

I just adore CAS cards because they are just so.
I jumped into this one before Day 196 (Fringe Binge) because ...
Simplicity simply is.
So I've got lots of white (check)
simple sentiment (check)
one embellishment (check)

Translation:
Man's Best Friend
Puppy Love
Woof woof

This card is just right for CAS-ual Fridays CFC70.

365 Cards Day 195 ~ Fringe Binge

Today's challenge is all about loading your card up with fringe (or the closest thing you have to it).  If you don't have fringe, get creative and get as close as you can to it - and don't skimp on it ;-)

Made this card using this really nice September sketch from The Craft's Meow
which I found through Iwona Palamountain's blog.

It was really enjoyable making this card which I started without the fringe.
I have always loved the brown tones, from the lightest cream to the darkest brown,
and set that as the tone for the card.
The polka dotted ribbon is to match the Sizzix Polka Dot embossing.
The dark brown ribbon is double-bow tied.
The tassel fringe was gotten in desperation from a nearby haberdashery.
For a 3D effect, I layered 4 Spellbinders butterflies and propped the wings up.
Sentiment is Hero Arts stamp.
